This is why I do it

I got an email from a pilot who owns one of the airplanes I photographed. He was very happy that I had managed to catch his bird one day. It always brings a smile to my face, because those little general aviation birds can be a labor of love and money. They may not be as glamorous as a 747, but there’s a living, breathing aviator behind that stick. He might thank me for taking that photo, but it’s really me who should be thanking him for keeping a classic airframe around for others to enjoy.
