It’s a nice touch.

You know how ginger ale used to come in those small green glass bottles? Nobody really does that anymore, right? Well, not quite. Apparently they still exist, and I had not one, but two at Les Halles in Manhattan today. Looks like Anthony Bourdain has his finger on the pulse of what the ginger ale connoisseur is after.

The food was excellent too, of course. The beef tenderloin béarnaise was quite delicious and I could see what people were talking about. They had a distinct potato flavor that was different from other fries, likely in how they cooked them. It didn’t drain all of that baked potato feel away from the meat of the fry. Plus, béarnaise is an excellent dipping sauce!

PDN PhotoPlus was interesting. Got to see a lot of familiar manufacturers. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a full report sometime next week, complete with photos. Stay tuned!
